I saw this article through a link Kientan put on a current Ozhadou thread.
Ego: The Player’s Most Difficult Opponent
So I clicked it, not really knowing what to expect. But hey! It’s written by Melbourne’s own AlexMD. I have great respect for Alex, he’s the best VF player in Melbourne, and he has this real humble, student-like approach to the game. And he’s offered me a lot of advice and help when I was trying out 3D games for the first time a couple of months ago.
So it was really interesting to read about his growth as a person and a fighting game player, and his struggles with his ego. To become this calm (suave), thinking student of the game.
I really enjoyed this article, great stuff Alex. It’s continually amazing to me to see how many delightful nuggets of intelligence and joy there are to be unearthed just from the people around in our small community. It also underlines again how ignorant I still am about the community and the scene’s greater workings!
Thanks Muttons!, always enjoy reading your blog posts, never thought I’d end up in one, haha. Also lol at the tags ^^
I really enjoyed it Alex, where can I find more of your stuff? Also why lol the tags are entirely accurate 😛
I’m now not positive where you’re getting your info, however good topic. I must spend some time finding out more or working out more. Thanks for wonderful info I used to be searching for this info for my mission.
